The renewal, the birth of a (re)start-up

The economic situation of Phildar SAS had severely deteriorated over several years. The brand found itself threatened.

Entrepreneurs from the North, attached to the city of Roubaix, its history and present, attached to the iconic brands and crafts of the North, could not let such beautiful brands die.

They decided to come together and bring Phildar and Pingouin, emblematic brands of the "Lainière de Roubaix", under one roof.

The ambition:

To rely on the potential renewal of the knitting yarn market and the revitalisation of the market. New consumption trends that are more responsible and focused on slow fashion, the rise of DIY and the pleasure of making things yourself, comfort us in the idea that yarn arts have not had their last word, and our beautiful brands will play a part.

This is why four new pillars have been defined to continue to shine Phildar and Pingouin:

  • Develop the yarn market by focusing on the company's historical know-how.
  • Use the web to disseminate and develop the pleasure of knitting and crochet. In partnership with all our distributors.
  • Develop collaborative mode.
  • Mobilise every day to increase our positive impact on the planet.
