In a world where everything moves fast, taking time for yourself and letting go are essential. Nothing beats a pair of needles or hooks to relax, giving you a sense of accomplishment, as it stimulates the hormones responsible for well-being. And it's scientifically proven!

According to a study of 3,500 knitters by "The British Journal of Occupational Therapy", 81% of participants report feeling happier after knitting, and 50% even claim to be very happy while they knit.

Have you tried everything to quit smoking? Have you tried knitting? The University of Chicago ranks knitting among the top 10 methods to quit smoking! Keeping your hands busy makes it easier to break free from addictions. The wool, with its variety of textures, reactivates tactile sensations, thereby triggering calmness.

Did you know?

During the filming of "Lars and the Real Girl", Ryan Gosling discovered a passion for knitting. While shooting a scene for an entire day in a doctor's waiting room, grandmothers knitting by his side inspired him to try it. According to him, it was the most relaxing day of his life! So if even Ryan Gosling is getting into it...

Solidarity Knitting

A sweater, baby clothes for a premature infant or a hat for the homeless... There are 1001 ways to engage in knitting.

Dedicated Organizations

The simplest way to participate in a solidarity knitting action is to donate your knits to dedicated associations. Some volunteers even organize workshops to knit together in joy and good spirits. Volunteers will ensure they are distributed to people in need.

Every year, we provide yarns and needles to organizations mobilized in the fight against cancer, and we support Les Petits Frères des Pauvres and Les Restos Bébés du Coeur.

Pink October

As part of Pink October, we engage alongside the Oscar Lambret Center. A national reference in oncology, the center annually cares for nearly 2000 women for breast cancer within its dedicated unit: The Breast Health Center.

By offering patients a complete knitting kit including yarns, needles or hooks, and a tutorial, we hope to provide them with the stress-relieving benefits of knitting during their care journey.

Making a handmade sweater is much longer than ordering one at a click. And that's what makes it great! Stitch by stitch, we create a unique piece that we will take care of and wear for years. We can also unravel it by pulling the thread to the end, giving it a thousand and one lives...

At Phildar and Pingouin, overconsumption is not an option. We offer our customers the possibility to purchase their supplies individually, skein by skein, to avoid overstocking both in our retailers and in your home!
